Attack on one of our servers - DKNG2 (Resolved)

Dear Customers,
We are facing an attack on one of our servers (DKNG2) from various IPs due to which the server went down few times.

Our server admins are already working to resolve the issue asap by implementing various measures.

We request your patience and understanding on this.

We will keep you updated on this issue here.

Update (1st Oct 2015):
A
ll the websites on DKNG2 are online since yesterday (30th September). You can check your website and if there is any issue you can contact support.

We are still working on the issue to completely avoid this issue to occur again. So server scans and backups are still running.

Hence we didn't emailed everyone to tell the issue is resolved. We would do that today. We will update you on this once all the scans are complete.

Update (2nd Oct 2015 - 1:57 AM Nigeria Time):
We are doing some crucial system checks to check the stability of the server.

For this server has to be rebooted. Expected downtime will be around 2-3 hours.

The process has been completed and it took 40 minutes for this process less than what we expected. So downtime was around 40 minutes.

For next few days, we will continue to extensively scan and monitor the server (DKNG2) daily so that this issue doesn't happen again.

NOTE:
This notice is only meant for clients hosted on DKNG2 server. See the CPanel details to check your server name.

This doesn't impact any of our other hosting servers other than DKNG2 or the domain name clients using our free DNS service and Free Email Service.

Clients hosted on others servers and clients using our domain name services can safely ignore this notice/announcement.

We thank you for your patience and understanding on this issue that we faced on our server.

Details on the issue and how it was caused:

Issue was caused due to outdated and compromised Wordpress installations on some of our client's websites. Hackers used outdated, compromised Wordpress Installations and plugins on these client websites to launch attack and spamming on our network.
